If you’re facing an investigation, whether it relates to criminal or misconduct allegations, we understand it can be professionally and personally distressing.  Whatever the allegation you’re facing, and whether you were on or off duty, we can provide you with the legal advice and representation you need to fight your case.  Our lawyers are experts in all aspects of criminal law, police conduct matters, inquests and post incident procedures.  We recognise the significant additional issues that police offiers face when subject to an investigation into their conduct.

In the first instance you should contact your Police Federation representative to request legal assistance for criminal and misconduct matters.  Where urgent advice is required out of hours in relation to an arrest or post incident procedure, you can contact a Federation representative 24 hours a day via the duty inspector in the Joint Communications Centre.

And if your investigation is mishandled, we can advise on civil remedies such as wrongful arrest.
