At the end of January we were made aware of an arrangement between Philip Williams and Co., and our current Group Insurance provider, Police Mutual.
As part of this arrangement, Police Mutual withdrew from the Group Schemes market and Philip Williams and Company agreed to manage our current Group Insurance Provision until the next renewal date.
Whilst the majority of current policies and procedures, will remain in place there will be a requirement to change the current motor breakdown provider from RAC to Call Assist with effect from 1st April.
You will shortly receive an explanatory letter via the internal mail regarding arrangements in the event of a breakdown from 1st April 2017.
Enclosed in this letter is a card which has the contact details and policy number should you require their service.
Whilst not a household name Call Assist are a large national company who operate schemes for a number of large insurers.
Their service has been recognised by Auto Express and Which Magazine as the best service provider for motor breakdown in the UK. They use local vehicle recovery operatives, and as well as matching the terms of our current policy they will provide the following additional enhancements in their cover:
Full cover for misfuelling incidents, including the cost of draining the tank, plus lack of fuel,
Cover following an accident, theft, vandalism or fire,
Cover for lost or broken or keys that are locked in the vehicle,
Cover for the breakdown of a caravan or trailer.
